If your plants are producing blossoms and are still healthy at the top, give it some more time. Bean blossoms are always falling off -- they end up as debris in any batch you pick!

You don't say where you are, but if you had a lot of spring rain when your plants were young, the lower leaves are probably just chlorotic (yellowing from tissue stress/too much water). They would fall off since they aren't contributing to the plant anymore.

Mine are the same way.

I'm in Eastern Oklahoma. We did have alot of rain in spring but have gone without for almost a month. We had a nice shower a couple of days ago. This is my first year to try pole beans, I've always grown bush beans with wonderful results.

But I'm glad to know yours are the same, makes me feel better.
