I have two vertical paintings i would like to hang. They would flank the french doors which are centered on the wall. Hanging the paintings on each side of the doors will create symmetry in the room. The paintings are 60" in height. There's a chair rail moulding on the wall that's 36". The paintings will hang over the chair rail moulding. Is this a design no no? Are there any rules or guidelines to consider when hanging a vertical painting? The moulding goes all around the room and I really don't have another spot for them. I would really like some guidance. Any suggestion is welcomed.
