With too much rain there is always the threat of rot for bearded iris. Other types, such as Siberian and Louisiana and Japanese like it wet. In the warmer months excess rain is more dangerous, but iris can rot anytime of year that there is too much rain. The best thing for iris is to have good drainage, so if your iris are planted where water can run off that is helpful. Otherwise, you might inspect the rhizomes and make sure they are still hard with no rot. If they do have rot, you can remove the rot and sprinkle bleach water or comet cleanser. I would not recommend lifting the iris this time of year.

The other thing I do in this wet weather is trim the foliage way back. It allows the sunshine on those occassional days to help keep problems at bay.
