consider letting your love seat be the divider of your living and eating area and forming the L shape like you have now. Move the tv to the current love seat wall. Are those wedding pictures? They would look great on the wall where the tv is now. With the furniture moved around and the pictures moved around, add a couple of plants and a bit of red accents to spice up the look. A red pottery piece on top of refrigerator and a big glass bowl with fake or red apples on the table will look good. Sorry, but you need to edit the refrigerator magnets and pictures. Thanks for letting houzzers in on your project.

Weg, Congrats on your new home, it already exudes warmth and a great feeling. I would first challenge you to define your style. Perhaps it's "contemporary with vintage touches" or "sophisticated European influence" or "pop goes rococo" or "rodeo glam"...however calm or crazy the mix you can achieve a very personalized look. I would create a list of influencers: architecture of your home, region of the country, favorite looks from tv/magazines/movies, your hobbies, favorite colors and now for the big one-who you want to be. You may have been sweatpant-wearing-college-party-fiends but look into your future, who do you want to be...chic fashionista couple or sophisticated Mad Men couple or worldly wise intellects? I hope you are up for this exercise and share with me your learnings. Best, Diane

Hi Agree with patriciarhall
Flip the furniture around and hang your wedding pictures together on one wall. If you want "WoW" without having to spend a lot of money-I suggest pieces which can work with your current furniture and accessories and more color on the walls. It's very bland, especially in the kitchen. The floors, the walls, the cabinets, and the sofa/loveseat are all the same---heck even the dog is, LOL! Paint again---more intense color, add a fun rug, and fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers... Hope this helps you and CongratS!!!
