How do you plan to overwinter them? In the pots in a protected area?

Do you have a place to sink the pots in the ground? I tried some in pots in the garage last winter just to see if they would make it. They didn't but the ones in the ground were fine. Of course we also had several nights of -30 last winter.

I have plenty of places to sink them into the ground. Can I also transplant them straight into the ground this fall? There's a bed that I'm redoing and thinking of doing a lot of lilies in, this one could be the first resident.
