Beans, Peas & Legumes

Pole Beans Wilting and Dying

This is my first year to try my hand at the square foot garden and it appears that a few of my Black Seeded Blue Lake Pole Bean are slowly dying.

I am not sure if I am overwatering, under watering... Some look great then others look awful,

HELP!

I would suggest you do cut back on the watering. I'm no expert on diseases, but I want to say verticillium wilt. Just water when plants look like they're starting to get stressed for water. This will not only help avoid some disease issues, but will also encourage plants to put their roots down deep.

What is your soil composed of? Looks like alot of wood chips in there. Any chance that the wood chips might be walnut? Or treated for landscaping? It does look maybe overly wet and compacted. Also looks overly black in places. And what are the sprinkles that look like salt on top?
