Acer shade tolerance?

Which acer varieties have the greatest shade tolerance (besides acer palmatum)??? I'm looking for an ornamental maple (besides a. palmatum) which would receive around 2 hours of direct afternoon sun... Something to bring a little life/color to a dark corner... Thanks

What about rufinerve? I really like "Hatsuyuki"... Also any thoughts about campestre in regards to shade tolerance?

A variegated rufinerve at the Carl English Botanical Garden in Seattle has grown for years in a shady spot.

I've read rufinerve is a fairly tough tree... not long lived, but does well in situations that might not be hospitable to palmatum....True???

Related to A. pensylvanicum, although said to prefer drier sites. I've seen many more examples of A. rufinerve in cultivation here, which would probably support the second assertion. Might be more rugged overall than A. pensylvanicum, but still a Sec. Macrantha (stripebark) maple. None of these are oaks.
