I did dig up the one with the bulbs showing at the surface. And holy cow! What I got was a softball-sized cluster of bulbs. CanÂt believe how this thing reproduced. This is Navona. I separated and replanted the biggest one back in the same hole. Now I have a bunch of lovelies to place around the garden.

It was interesting, the topmost one that was exposed to the sun actually was colored a reddish purple shade. I have been noticing subtle differences in the color of the bulbs that I have been transplanting. How the red Monte Negro lily has red bulbs, etc. Honeymoon has yellow bulbs. Before this I thought lily bulbs were all white unless they were orientals.

I always like the subtle yellow colour of canadense & grayi myself. Stop for a second or two just to admire them whenever I have to dig them up.
