Veritas means truth in Latin. Never heard of a plant named that, though.

You must have watched the Good Witchs Garden. She had a plant called Veritas and anyone that stands close to it can't tell a lie. I can't find that plant anywhere

Maybe it's a code word for grapevine.
Doesn't the saying go "In vino veritas" - "In wine there is truth"

LOL!! There is no such tree! It's a TV program, folks........plants cannot make you tell the truth.
