Just type Lentils in the Garden web's search engine that is above on this page in right side.

I buy small black lentils from the bulk bins at Whole Foods, but I found them for less at Purcell Mountain Farm. Just plant from the bag of eating beans, it will be okay. ;-)

Dry beans are considered a field or farm crop rather than a garden crop because it takes so many plants to produce a decent harvest. If you are clearing a new garden bed, or half the yard, plant your lentils there as a cover crop and to improve the soil without taking up all of your usual garden space. Then read up about threshing grain, as that will be more what you will need to do than the usual bean shelling process.
