Need a good colour combination for exterior

I posted a couple of days ago but now I can't find my post so I'm posting again. We installed a new door, mailbox, lamps and numbers this summer and we plan to paint the rest of the house next spring.

Right now, there's too much of a contrast between the upper and lower half. I'd like to borrow a shade of grey from the stone and apply it to the stucco up top.

Questions:

1) We're putting up new shutters. Should they match the black of the door or be a deep grey?

2) What colour should the window frame of the multi-paned window be?

3) What colour should the garage door be?

Really appreciate your thoughts and advice!

Great contrast, consider bringing in a bluish gray to enhance the painted trim and stone. You could use it in panels under the bay window, the garage door and shutters for the upper windows.

love the door! I'd used the darker grey of the stone for the top of the house and the garage. Use black shutters to go with the beautiful door. Leave the windows in white, and paint the bottom of the large window in the grey color.

HI -- The front door should be it's own color. So another color should be on the shutters . I think a navy grey would look good on the top half and the mainfloor window and garage doors and the band trim and the roof edge . You could have a color on the garage that matches the color of the stone . Try Ranchwood by Benjamin Moore paints.

Fantastic door!

Black shutters would be attractive with one of Benjamin Moore's greys.

Cape may cobblestone is classic and elegant for the stucco up top.

The window frame could be a very light grey in the same family.

HI -- forgot to say before .... put your house numbers in bigger size numbers ,vertical to the right of the garage door. Cannot see the ones you have now ....way too small.

Your home is pretty nice as it is. I'd only change the color of the door & side window. Maybe paint them a deep cranberry? A rich, dark shade of red would offer nice contrast against the gray stone walls & black fixtures. Red doors are welcoming & interesting.

I also like it the way it is. I like the door in black. It gives it prominence and goes well with the geometric Asian to Frank Lloyd Wright influenced design. I like the way the top color brings out the color in the stone and also like the bay window area and garage door in the white color. Light color around the windows opens them up and makes them seem larger. The shutters should be a medium to dark grey like the one in the center of the bottom row. Sometimes it doesn't pay to change things when they are right. The stone and the door should be the focal points.

I like the door the way it is.

I agree that the house numbers are too small.

Feng Shui design allows house numbers in the horizontal position only.
