Design help 0n family room.

I have a new sofa and 2 chairs, but want to update to go with adjacent kitchen. Need suggestions on changing cab9nets, picture and adding rug and coffee table, side table etc i want to get rid of tuscan. The cabinet wall to left is 10 ” wider than right side wall, so fp isnt center. I mainly need what to do with spaces on either side of fp. cabinets, builtins?

I have never decorated my living/family rooms to go with the kitchen, in any house I have lived in. The Travertine tile will always remind many of us of the whole faux-Tuscan trend, but not much you can do since you decided to keep that major element.

I would consider a rug to anchor the sitting area in that sea of Travertine!

For fireplace wall, do you need display shelves or would you be ok with two consoles and art above?

Ignore the size difference and just place whatever you pick the same distance away from the fireplace. The extra wall space is what it is, unless you do custom built-in and they make one slightly bigger.

I remember this post from awhile ago. You didn't get the ideas you hoped for?

Is the living room the same color as the kitchen?

What is the floor measurement of the living room?

I wouldn't do built in's UNLESS you are going to change the fireplace.

If you need them for storage, I'd start by painting the flanking hutches white. Or removing them all together and see what you think.

For me the toughest is the rug. Find a rug you love. Fill the space, leaving just the perimeter of the tile floor showing. Remove all the Tuscan decor, including the mirror.

Your furnishings need to be adjusted. Center the area rug and seating on the fireplace.

“Ignore the size difference and just place whatever you pick the same distance away from the fireplace.”

    Agree.

i couldn’t pinpoint what was bothering me, other than the cabinets, but BeverlyFLA cleared it up for me. Re the cabinets, can the upper portions be removed? It doesn’t appear that they’re displaying much of anything. If so I would paint them to match fireplace or just remove them . Perhaps consoles with art above ? I would pick a rug first.

Maybe face couch to the fireplace and one chair on each side? Ise sofa table and rug. i like the look of build in cobinets, just install lower level cabinets with shelves above.

I did get an estimate for builtins with this ai sketch Feedback?

Is there a reason that arranging the furniture as shown in the two AI renderings below (or something similar) wouldn't work for you?

If the sofa doesn't work facing the fireplace, I think the room would look better if it wasn't pushed up against the left wall.

i have a room to right and need 43-48 space for walkway and door at top is our access from farage to kitchen which is behind the sofa table in your photo aldo, the fp is not centered left wall 1 ft wider A lot of issues with room which makes it difficult
