Reporting in from the Jersey shore: Some kind of DL blooming here ... haven't a clue which cultivar; it was marked "Little Grapette" but the blossom is definitely yellow. Nice to see it anyway.

Thanks Diane, yes Royal Elk first to bloom. It is exasperating to have a plant ID incorrect. We try to keep ours true to name but can understand some of the large wholesale and retail outlets could have a real problem. Steve in Baltimore

Steve, You say "We try to keep ours true to name." Are you a grower or own a nursery? This is my first year using daylilies in the gardens. I ordered them online at www.lilyauction.com. All were healthy and large. I'm hoping they are true to name, time will tell. Congrat's on your first bloom. It is always exciting to see the first bloom of any plant or so it is for me. :-) Enjoy!

No it is just a backyard hobby that got out of hand. We sell our suplus and usually make just enough to cover water, fertilizer etc. Also meet a lot of real nice people. Steve in Baltimore
