Star Jasmine

I have a Star Jasmine from last summer that I wintered indoors. I was thinking of giving it a light haircut, planting it in the ground, give it Miracle Gro & see if I can't get it to trellis for the summer. If all goes well, I'll cut it back and bring it back indoors in the fall. Any thoughts?

I plant my star jasmine, pot and all, in a sunny location for the summer. It is on a small metal trellis in the pot. It blooms several times during the summer. In the fall I dig it up and bring it back inside. If it needs repotting I will prune the roots and add some new soil to the same pot.
