I will definitely be there at 9-ish to accompany the park employee who opens the restrooms and turns on the electricity. gflynn has offered to help set up and tear down, if needed. So has annebert.

Annebert has also offered to demonstrate how to save tomato seeds (the scooping and fermentation).

My DH, Dave, will assist in grilling, but he may need to leave early.

Events/Activities:

Here is an initial list -

- Tomato tasting (attendees rate various varieties on numeric scale)

- Tomato seed swap

- Seed saving demo (Annebert)

- Largest tomato contest (how would we do this? Weight or inches? Anybody have a scale we could use?)

- Ugly tomato contest

- Anything else? Do we want to have contest for best tomato dish, or just eat?

Alcoholic beverages are permitted, but may only be consumed under the pavilion. So no tailgating!

Here are a few more park rules and regulations:

Unfortunately, no pets are allowed.

We must begin cleaning and packing up at least one hour before the stated departure time (in our case, 6:00 pm). Each group is responsible for collecting their trash in bags and taking it to the nearest trash bin or dumpster, or taking the trash with them when they leave. There are several trash cans near the pavilion - I'm not sure whether there are any nearby dumpsters. I'll have to check. I can collect recyclables and take them home with me - Balto. County has curbside recycling and I can dispose of them that way.

Charcoal fires are permitted only in park-owned or private grills. No fires are permitted inside the pavilions. (Note: two park-owned grills are located just outside our pavilion).

Janet, glad you asked - Offhand, I know we could use folks to help slice all the tomatoes for the tasting. I was hoping to rope some of you who live nearby to help with this.
