I have planted the early veggies like peas, lettuce, radishes (we are already eating them). I use May 10th, mpls also.

That's great! I also put in sweetpeas, lettuce, carrots and onions, probably give it another week or so until I can harvest lettuce. I'm glad I'm on the same page. One more week to go.

I planted peas, beets, carrots, lettuce, and bok choy the last week of march, and all are coming up and looking good. I planted alyssum, violets, wallflowers, bee balm, conefower, and some other stuff too. I know it's early but I was impatient to get started. Usually I think of May 15th as last frost (minneapolis) but my aunt says it's ok to plant when the lilacs are blooming.

Well that is exciting! I did plant some cold weather loving flowers as well. I'm worried for tonight and tomorrow though, there is very cold temperatures in the forecast. My lilacs were blooming probably 2 weeks ago, I think this year has been quite different though.

I'm a little worried about frost damage to some of my flowers as well. I think it got down to 32 here last night. So far they look ok but I suppose it takes a while for them to die if they did in fact get too cold. Most of the flowers I planted were perennials that have been growing in the cool weather on the deck, so they have that going for them. I had some annuals that were planted already in my window boxes, I covered them up with sheets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have to replant them.

We had a few things freeze, some of which were covered. It got down to the high 20's here for two nights in a row. Of course, all the cold weather things are fine.... pansy's, violas, onions, peas, radish, lettuce, spinich. The things that froze were out at the camp. Things that were planted in town fared better. I think the streets and sidewalks absorb the heat and that helps keep the freeze away during the cold nights.
