KIWI croaked!!

My Kiwi plant just up and died on me two weeks ago. I bought it last year from the Variegated Foliage Nursery in CT. and planted it in a good spot against the lattice. It looked fine until a few weeks ago when I noticed the leaves were yellowing along the veins and the next day or two, the leaves just dropped off in unison. What happened? The variety was Artic Beauty (I think) it had green, pink and white leaves.
