I don't know if the ones I got from Marie last June are grandma's or not, but they are the mini ones and they have multiplied like crazy and are budding like crazy. If the sun ever shines again, I will try to get a pic to post.

I did bring home some mini ones from Marie last summer too, but they're not the 'grandmothers' ones. These are more medium height and a deep grapy color. I think the minis are more of a bright purple. Is that what your buds look like? Mine don't have buds yet.. or they didn't two days ago. I'd better get out there and check again. Everything is growing so FAST!

Wow, my Iris' have been blooming for almost two weeks now.
My rose bush has got a lot of red buds just waiting to burst open. Lilacs have been blooming for over a week too. I think my sis was right when she told me that she thought I was a zone 5 here. I had a lot of perennials not die back this winter like they usually do.

Mine are out blooming like crazy! I love 'em and she'd be so thrilled to know I've passed them around like this!

Sure wish I really knew what they were called...

I have the dwarf iris from Marie's garden and they are adorable! Tiny little deep blue flowers, mine are actually almost finished blooming.

PS...Marie, remember that plant you shared that you thought was a coreopsis and then posted to us that it may be something entirely different (can't remember what...)? Mine is up, but so far I can't tell what it is. So I am excited to see what my "mystery" plant is!

Ah - if it's up now it's likely the coreopsis - very toothed looking soft leaves? If it's really feathery looking, stiff, and kind of silvery it's Prairie Bush clover :)

Purple Prairie Clover (*whew* glad I got that straight, I also have a bush clover but different critter) is Dalea purpura and is not invasive and smells blissful! Great in bouquets for an accent and fragrance. If you got some be very very happy *GRIN*. I believe it's "Lance-leafed" coreopsis, a bit vigerous but easy to move about.
