Perfect time! Cool season grasses germinate and grow best in the fall. Late August to early September is the best time to plant them in zone 7. You might want to check with your local extension office for recommendations of variety in MD. They will also have lots of information on watering, fertilizing, etc. to help you get a good stand of grass.
