I am interested in purchasing Corylus avellana 'Contorta' - Henry Lauder's Walking Stick. Has anyone had experience with Eastern Filbert Blight in the Maryland suburbs (not far from DC)? I can't quite tell if it has gotten to this area and how risky it is. I love the shape of this tree but may need to purchase the more resistant 'Red Dragon' in its place. Any thoughts?
