I'm not sure who I received the Heliopsis I planted, but I did get germination. Regarding coneflower seed - I've had the best luck winter sowing coneflower and so-so indoor sowing. I've read in some of my books that coneflowers need a cold treatment so outdoor wintersowing is a great way to go. I've also found that columbine, delphinium and some others need the cold treatment too. I store these types of seeds also in the fridge and/or freezer.

Can these seeds (coneflower, black-eyed susan and Heliopsis) be direct sowed in the fields in the fall? How long does it take for them to flower if grown from seeds?
