Dianthus Splitting

Since Dianthus seems to do well out here in NW Indiana, I want to split my plants so I have consistancy. Anyone know if this is possible?

A sharp knife or spade will do the trick, I would attempt this as soon as the soil is workable, sprinkle some 10-10-10 fertilizer after you transplant them and await thier new growth and flowering this spring. It's a great way to spread them to different areas.
