I did overwinter one a few years ago. It was in a pot so I just brought inside in the spare bedroom. Gave it the best light I could. I believe they can be grown as houseplants in a sunny room or greenhouse, so why not? Maybe wash the leaves with soap and water mixture ahead of time, though there probably arenÂt many pests outside this time of year.

Mine didnÂt really grow much indoors due to poor light, but did improve once it went back outside in spring.

Not sure if there are advantages, other than cost, but in theory it is a more established plant and would probably grow more next season than starting with a new plant. Even if you have to give it a good trimming when it goes back outside next year (sometimes plants might grow 'leggy' when inside for the winter).

Entirely possibly. And as Glen says, in a sunny location. Since you haven't brought it in yet, it will protest hugely, even if it didn't incurr the shock of being dug up. (Houseplants should be brought in in mid September to lessen the dramatic climate change.) Eventually it will come around. Keep a close watch for insects. I would still spray it down on a warm day like today, even if you use just water. If it is below 55 degrees, I would bring the plant inside to dry. Tropicals can get the chills, kind of like people.

Whether you should overwinter the plant is really subjective. I don't winter over plants I can readily buy next spring or start from seed what is available in the nurseries. But that's just me.
