Nellie Stevens Holly / St Louis Area

I would like to plant a hedge of Nellie Stevens Holly, but the Missouri Botanical Garden site states that it is not 'reliably hardy' here. Does anyone in the area have experience with this variety? Is there another Holly variety that is better here. I am looking for a tall hedge 12+ feet that will remain dense. The location is part sun.
