Must be a mulberry tree. There are chemicals that can reduce the number of fruits a tree will put out. I think they must be sprayed on the flowers, though, and I'm not sure I'd want to do it. I think I'd look for a replacement tree.

Yes, I believe you are correct about the mulberrries. I am certain the product someone referred me to last year was applied to the roots but had to be before the fruit grew. When I asked last year the berries were already dropping so it was too late.

I don't know why I can't find the post from last May through a search....it seems older posts are still on here.

P.S. The tree is very large and the roots go under the deck....removing it would not be feasible (at least right now).

Start with a small bow saw and cut everything you can for now. This tree will not be affected by any chemical except gasoline followed by a match. (NOT recomended in NJ) I've cut 14 down so far. One branch, laid on the ground still sprouted a branch months later!
