I've been taking walks in woods and grassy fields and I haven't seen any snakes, frogs or box turtles. I have heard some frogs and have seen different types of water turtles(snappers, painters, bog ect..)

No, I'm up in North Jersey.

I saw one toad/frog while mowing the other day and moved one boxturtle off the road on Sunday - that's been the extent of it for me.

I have noticed it as well..usually i have Dekays Brown Snakes in my yard..always see babies in the spring..this year i saw one and it was dead. It was a sad sight.
I also have noticed that they aren't as many butterflies.. I have only seen the usual cabbage whites and those brown moths with orange, brown and black.

If they keep building more Walmarts and more Home depots every 5 miles apart you'll never see another snake again . I've never seem any snakes where I live down the shore .
