I am planning on utilizing the wet newspaper + layers of mulch and topsoil method to create new flowerbeds for the spring. There are no markers for beds and currently my yard is bare dirt, mostly decomposed mulch, and weeds. I would really like to put some bulbs in the new beds, but will the flowers (tulips, daffodils, some small iris) grow through the newspaper? Should I but the bulbs on top of the newspaper layer instead of under?
