Most likely Crepe Myrtle, as they are everywhere in South Jersey in full bloom right now.

You could call it tree or a bush depending on how much you hack it back each year, but buddleia davidii (butterfly bush) is blooming.

My crape myrtle from The Arbor Day Foundation finally bloomed for the first time (it's two years old). The buds are very full and round and ready to bust out -- and they're purple, my wife's fave color.

Unfortunately, I don't know what cultivar it is -- perhaps Catawba.

Does chaste tree (Vitex something) bloom this late? Think it does.
