Those actually look like some sort of ornamental grass. Are there any healthy clumps left that you can post a few pics of?

How tall are the seed heads, and the green grassy parts, of what is left (if you've no healthy plants to measure)?

That could help identify it.

Ornamental grass. Likely Pennisetum setaceum, invasive non-native (bad). If the flowers are extremely thin, then Mulhenbergia rigens, native Deer Grass (good).

First picture absolutely dead. Second & rest, there are some living parts you could split out, water a lot and get going again, but they are not really of much value.

The grasses like yours are often not cut low enough by gardeners. These grasses need to be cut back to 2 -3 inches otherwise they die from the middle out. When, if they come back at all, take a sample to a Star Nursery for identification.

If you get a round green grass plant with white feather heads you have Hamelin grass which is now outlawed in Clark Co. due to pollen. You will still see it planted all over because it got grandfathered in but you can't buy new plants.
