It's not too late, I have tomatillos that reseed every year and they haven't popped up yet.

Mine came from a old store bought tomatillo that I threw in the compost bin. I've had them ever since. I tried Aunt Molly's one year, but they just didn't do as well as the store bought one. One of these days I'm going to devise a ground cherry pie recipe, just so I can deal with all the tomatillo fruit!
