Fig forum might be a good place to check. There are others growing figs in containers. Some folks grow them that way for many years.

Ditto Bear's suggestion of the Fig Forum. I will say, however, that I now have Violette de Bordeau growing in a container. I read that it is well adapted for this culture, partly because it's not a large specimen by nature. I haven't had it long enough to report my personal experience with it. I am not sure about its hardiness, but because it's in a container, I stored it in my garage over winter.
