Now seems to be the perfect time to plant trees and shrubs here in the valley. The ground is still soft for easier digging and there's plenty of time for plants to settle in before we get to our dry summer. It also helped that my local nursery had a 20%-off sale last week ... lol.

I've been spenting a lot of time at the end of a shovel the last couple of weeks. I've planted (or transplanted) doug fir, deodar cedar, black spruce, flowering cherries, eastern redbud, doublefile viburnum, dwarf strawberry tree, red-twig dogwood, american holly, and evergreen huckleberry.

So what have you planted lately? Or maybe you're making out your plant wish list for 2009. If so, what's on your list? Who knows, I might have to put it on my list too ... lol!
