LOL!! $40 for a battery operated electronic gizmo to scare slugs off is a bit more "humane" than I care to be. I opt for beer or Sluggo or I slice 'em in half with my pruners!

How do you clean the goo off the pruners?

I have no intention of being humane to slugs.

Slugs and snails that I come across end up under my shoe. I keep a really good boot scraper by the back door. My remedy for wood bugs under containers, very quickly lift container/pot, set it back down fast, give it a half turn either way. You can knock off quite a few that way and the bonus is, their relatives don't come back to visit for quite awhile.
