Yes I have the same problem.Mind I did not do the experiment with my own seeds?.Planted Broad Beans March 6th and nothing yet? I thought it was the soil perhaps or temperature? Seeded other seedlings in the same mix and they sprouted somehow. Looks like I have to buy more and plant directly in the garden..

Some seed companys are better than others, I'm beginning to think some of them are mixing a good percentage of old seed with new.
The last few years I've been growing more of the heirloom types, open pollinated, so I can save my own seed. I've always grown Celebrity tomatoes, my favorite. This year I'm trying an open pollinated variety Manitoba. I sprouted both of them at the same time, all of the Manitoba sprouted in 3 days, the Celebrity took 8 days and only 50% of those sprouted.
When I find an open pollinated tomato I like as much as Celebrity I'm going to switch.

Could you tell me what "open pollenated" means?

It means naturally pollinated, not a hybrid or with human intervention. It means you can usually save the seeds from the fruit & maintain the line on your own.
