Did you miss the yellows? I've found that my yellow ones came up and are now gone but my purple ones are now up. They usually come up at the same time but did not this year.

No... they have disappeared completely. However, I planted a few bulbs under a tree last year, and there are some yellow ones there. But the whole rest of the garden... no yellow! As you say, the purple ones are fully out now.... wonder what happened.

Mine have done the same thing. However the d--n bambies are chewing them off before they bloom well. I have some in my deer fenced veggie garden and they are yellow. Maybe bambi likes yellow ones best?

nope, that's not it. My garden is fenced and, besides, the other crocuses are thriving. Any other suggestions would be welcome!

That has always happened to me with crocus tommasinianus and I have been growing them for over twenty-five years. I think the yellow just aren't as vigorous and they die out. The purples are stronger plants and they come back year after year. If you fertilize them, they yellows may last a bit longer, but eventually they still die out. At least that is my experience. I still like the purple ones a lot. :-)
