Thanks! I am considering Fru Dagmar for a replacement for a smaller rugosa along our street. Any suggestions for a non-rugosa rose? I forgot to mention that preference. I already have a rugosa hedge along the street and it's great but I'd like something different close to the house.

Hi there, I have some polyantha roses and they are doing very well! They also make great hedges. You might think about Perle D'Or, Marie Pavie,
or the bush form of Cecile Brunner. All very nice, softly colored ones. I live very close to Raft Island Roses. Incredible Rose Nursery!

My Meidiland/Meideland (start out white, turn pale pink) have done amazingly well at the top of my rock wall.

Mine start blooming early and keep going until Xmas sometimes. The blooms are multi clustered and dime size. When the blooms turn brown, I just whack the branches with a stick to knock them off. No pest, no diseases, and seem quite drought tolerant, too. I just water deeply when it gets really hot.

A light spring pruning helps them fill in. Mine are very large, about 4Hx5x5.
Meidiland is a French family of rose growers. They have developed their roses in several colors.
