I looked this up on the web. It looks a lot like a tree we had cut down a few years ago. I didn't ever know what it was until now. We called it the "alien" tree because of the awkward branching. It also had two tops starting about halfway up that made the tree look like it was leaning to one side. The tree was at least 40+ feet tall with large long cones. Anyways not sure if this helps any. I think there is a tree forum on this site where you might get more info.

Acracona commonly grows into a wide, squat tree of dimensions about 6'x4' in 10 years. Loads of cones will eventually form at the end of the branches, so many in fact it causes the tree to sag under their weight. It's a very beautiful tree in time. I wouldn't prune it at all unless it's growing into somewhere you don't want it to.

Dates back a ways, more than one form likely to have been grown. But material encountered on the market now probably can be expected to be small- and bushy growing most or much of the time. Pruning of individual specimens can be based on how they appear to be acting, if a given one seems to be trying to take off and make a taller form it might be a good idea to remove competing leads. Otherwise, maybe better to not mess with it.
