It sounds like you are having a wonderful time -- and you aren't even eating your crop yet! I find that a lot of the leafy stuff bolts as soon as the weather warms up -- if it ever will this year...Last year was a cool summer and I picked peas off the same plants practically all summer. Don't plant your beans too early -- they are warm weather crops and are very unhappy if planted too early. They just get eated by bugs, slugs and they sulk. If you are cramped, grow up. Put strong posts in and grow your tomatoes and squash up. The tomatoes are better because they don't get damp rot from lying on the ground. Last year, our squash plants were huge and we had an enormous amount of acorn squash and some of them grew up on our fence and were very happy. btw, we are still eating Swiss Chard that was planted last spring. And, I just dug the last of our parsnips which were not even planted until July. I think the bottom line is grow what you like and experiment. You never know what the weather is going to be like and sometimes you win big, but you never lose -- home grown veggies are the best.

I start my beans inside, and then plant them in between the lettuce and peas, as these will die about the same time the beans really start growing.

Lettuce can go all summer, if you plant heat resistant varieties and give them afternoon shade. The crucifers really won't, but you can plant new fall stuff in August. Peas are really just for spring. Sweet peas will bloom all summer, but sugar peas die with the first real heat. Although that may not come this year ... ya just never know.

You could probably get 4 tomatoes in if you train them on poles as suggested above.
