I made a post last year about hydrangea 'Homigo'. I purchased two collections from QVC (supplied by Springhill) early spring of '04. Last summer, the 'Homigo' bloomed like crazy. Someone, I don't remember the poster, noted that 'Homigo' had not performed very well in trials. So, I was concerned that last year's performance was a fluke. But, I was out checking the garden this morning after yesterday's deluge and noticed that my 'Homigo' hydrangeas are setting buds again on this year's new growth. So, now I'm wondering why these didn't perform in the trials. I'm not doing much of anything with mine. No winter protection, little to no supplemental water, no fertilizer, etc. We do provide good soil...their area is amended annually with 4-5" of leaf mold mixed with manure. Anyway, I'm loving these plants and wondering if anyone else is growing them? They were slow to change colors last year but did eventually turn from blue to green to red.
