 Organic mulches are preferred alternatives for permanent landscape installations as they can be
reapplied throughout the life of the landscape without damaging the existing plantings

Labyrinths are cool, eh? I wish I had one in my yard. I would probably use whatever I had the most of nearby. Like, around here, we have a lot of small boulders, so I'd use those. Some places have a lot of sand. Some places have gravel. Some have fallen logs. What do you have around?

An example of a labyrinth (gravel path and perennials it looks like) set in a woodland clearing. It's not exactly small, but might give you some ideas.

There was an article in our local paper recently about a labyrinth someone had created locally. I tried to find it and failed, but this page came up with some very creative ones. Perhaps a trip to Vancouver Island would be in order for research? I think when the one made of lavender is finished, it would be exceptional.
