Hello. I am asking for my mom who lives in Toledo, Oregon which is just in from Newport. There is less of an ocean wind but the climate is similar.

She would like to grow Ficus benjamina outside in large pots. Can this be done?

I haven't lived in Portland for years nor have I lived on the coast for years, so I'm not sure if I can give her the best advice.

Any tips would be welcome, even a simple "yep, you can grow it just fine" would be nice.

I'd also like to know if she can keep it outside all winter or if she'll have to bring it in for their short bouts of snow.
