You don't want the same type of product for containers as you do for garden beds. Container/potting soil generally contains NO soil and a lot of textural components - bark fines, pumice, perlite, etc., for durability. And is also seldom available in bulk unless you order a custom mix and a LOT of it!

For regular landscape purposes - flower beds and borders, raised beds, lawn prep - a garden planting mix is what you should be asking for (sometimes sold as a 3 or 5-way planting mix). This will be some combination of loam/topsoil, compost and some sort of drainage component -shedded bark, sand, sometimes sawdust.

Sandy soil is not bad - it will generally provide very good drainage. It might be a little low on organic matter but that is easy to add each season or as necessary as a compost or composted manure mulch.

I never recommend purchasing bulk soils sight unseen. Try visiting Country Nursery/Rodgers Landscaping or West Sound Landscape Supplies in Port Orchard. Or Clear Creek Nursery in Silverdale.
