My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
Has anyone else had problems with this pest yet? If your daylilies have lots of distorted buds that fail to flower, you might have it. Mine have been effected for 3 years. I believe they're another foreign pest that gained a foothold in BC and are spreading south, so heads up.
Yes, I discovered them last summer & haven't eradicated it yet though concentrated in one garden.
Info from Erikson's Gardens: -soil borne larvae emerges early May -lays eggs in buds -grubs eat inside of bud & deform it -remove affected buds in June (seal in bag & dispose -- don't compost) Otherwise the grubs will crawl back down into the soil when done eating to emerge again next year as an adult.) -no spraying required or needed for this pest
Yep, that's the same thing I've been doing with the buds. I've also read that late bloomers escape most of the damage. It's a new problem to me so was trying to spread the word on here.
When I contacted 'The Bug Farm' here on the island they said to use nematodes, can't remember which one but it was the ones used indoors, I did get them and sprayed, didn't have a problem the next year but the little buggers are back this year :(.
