Yes, Robinia 'Frisia' can be coppiced. Fine Gardening had an extensive article several years ago regarding trees well suited to coppicing that included Robinia, Corylus, Paulownia, Catalpa, Cotinus, Eucalyptus and a number of others I don't recall at this time.

thank you gg. i'll look for that issue.you might enjoy this: there's a wonderful nursery in mid-Vermont called Rocky Dale. the original owners had been with marshall olbricht in cal. in his heyday and their landscape design at RD is extraordinary. at any rate, they're zone 4 or 5 , not sure. they have a paulownia that dies to the ground every winter and by the end of the next gardening season, it has shot up 25-30'!!! isn't that amazing?!!
