This was labeled Great Expectations, as I got it from a reputable nursery that labels well *snort* I thought I would ask you guys

Please ignore the pic of the Monstera, I keep messing with it and I can't seem to get it deleted out, I really need a course on photobucket for dummies.

i agree ... little hard to tell this time of year ....

there is a FAQ on photobucket ... basically there is a box under the pix in PB .... check it.. then at the bottom of the page... there is a DELETE SELECTED FILES button ... go for it ...

I ordered a GE from Carrolls Gardens and it did not look anything like their picture. I have seen GE's locally that don't look like pictures on Hosta Library and elsewhere. Don't know what is going on...

Couple of things to keep in mind here, jbranch. The labels invariably show mature plants and what you're buying is anything but. That's one, another is that quite likely you have yours in a different location in terms of sun exposure and moisture. You'd be amazed at how different the same variety will look when you change location and resultant light exposure. On top of that GE has this reputation for being a slow-poke, so it may not show much improvement until it's been in the ground for at least 3 years.

Thanks guys, I have been trying to keep all of them labeled as I get them.
thanks for the info on the FAQ Ken, I always forget it is there and when you are surviving on little or no sleep makes the brain a little fuzzy. I did finally figure out what I did, I posted that houseplant on another forum and the box was still checked when I went to post the hosta, so thats how I got them both in there. I tried go backwards and delete some of the code but that didn't work so well so I just gave up:)

When I bought my GE i thought it was labeled wrong. I just looked for a picture to show you but it must have been pre-digital. Anyway, the leaves were narrow and very streaky...I loved it! It did not stay that way. It started looking like GE the following spring. It is big and beautiful now though!

I really like the way this one looks, I am hoping it will get nice and big. I am going to have a set back on all of them next Summer as we will be moving and all will have to be moved, my Francis Williams was very impressive this year and I hate the fact that it will be disturbed but better next year then 2 years from now:)
