japanese Anenomes

I love the plant but this year they have reached about 6' tall. do you think if I cut them back in the spring when they are beginning to put on growth, this would halt the height for next year. Thank you for any help Sheila

I have some Japanese anemones in a shady moist spot and they do get tall(5'). I also have some Japanese anemones in a sunny dry spot and they stay very short(2'). I think if they are happy they are going to be tall, if growing in poor conditions they will remain stunted. I don't think cutting them back will help much.

I have some that are almost 7' tall. Another variety is about 4'. Can you plant them in a different spot so the height won't be an issue?
