I have too few skunks in my neighborhood.

We have a skunk issue also - we live on a relatively busy road, and seem to have some sort of a skunk preditor as well (probably a great horned owl, since I don't know of anything else that can stand the stench) so the local skunk population seems to be disturbed on a regular basis, though happily NOT 24/7, sometimes on the road and sometimes along the field edges. We run a fan that sucks cool night air into the house, and on several nights the wafting odor of skunk has woken me up, and I have to scramble around to try to shut up the house before it becomes unbearable. DH, who has very little sense of smell, has even noticed it, and one day came in from brush hogging and said that one corner of the field had definitely hosted a startled skunk.

Sometime in the 90's a new strain of rabies moved through and really reduced the population of animals like skunks, foxes, and raccoons. I think that they have finally rebounded.

First all of the rabbits have disappeared and now skunks are everywhere. What next?
