Overwintering in Pots Question

I'm getting ready to put the potted hostas away for the winter, but I was wondering if I should remove the old withered leaves from them first or just leave them?

Some have very few leaves left on them because the wind has removed them for me, but some others have hung onto the leaves well even though they are all yellowed and shriveled and I would probably have to cut them away.

Remove them or leave them on?

Janet
