Not here. In Olympia we only have an inch or so. Very dry powdery snow but barely covering the ground, and nothing on the pavement except ice. Monday morning I actually made it to work despite having 2" of slick snow and no winter tires. I checked the Dept of Transportation webcams once at work and I could not believe that Tacoma and Seattle had essentially no snow!! Olympia was gridlocked by snow. I saw lots of snow at Bellingham and Anacortes, the Mt St Helens camera was just a whiteout, but Tacoma/Gig Harbor/Seattle had nothing. Almost nothing around Vancouver, just a dusting. There was no image for Port Angeles and the highway west of there but the web site said the highway was closed due to snow. The border crossing at Blaine was pretty snowy too and they were asking drivers to not try to drive through Skagit or Whatcom counties. And apparently the Willapa Hills got a lot of snow too, the highway through there was closed.

My favorite webcam image of the day was Highway 101 at Queets - a nice thick blanket of snow, and one lonely set of tire tracks.

I talked to a couple of people in Sedro Wooley (to cancel our appointments!) and both said they had 6-8" of snow on Monday. I'm sure they have lots more today!

More rain, anyone?

Maybe not more rain, but I almost prefer the thunder and lightening to this, beautiful as it is. 6 1/2" measured on my deck railing this morning, 30F at almost noon. There is a herd of children sledding on the steep street in front of my house, and the street is not closed to traffic as the city will sometimes do to accommodate sledders :(

Total snow depth at my location is 5" inches. Lowest temp. so far was -5.1 C. (22.8 F.) this morning. Deepest snow recorded on our island is 2'ft at 800'ft elevation. Low temp. there this morning was -8.2 C. Cheers, Banana Joe

We had 8 inches of snow measured on the picnic table and woke up this morning to a balmy 18 degrees.

Sure has been pretty.

How about 20 inches? We're east of Snohomish at about 500ft elevation. We got 8 on Sunday night and 12 on Monday. No major damage is apparent, although I gently brushed snow off a young bent-over birch.
