Open a free account on Photobucket. Upload your pictures there.
After you upload your first picture to Photobucket, you should see three lines of HTML code underneath it. If you copy the second line, the TAG line, you can then paste that line into your forum message. Press the Preview Message button and you should see your message with the picture.
Let me know if something doesn't make sense in my desription.

agnieszka, now I'm confused too. There is no tag line. The second line is called "direct link". The way I do it is to copy the line labelled "HTML", and then paste it into the message box (not the optional link url) on gardenweb. Here's an example. This is how the pasted link looks in the message box (except that I've modified it slightly, so that you can see the link in text form):

I do the same as lilydude says, but I resize my photo smaller before I upload it...Or, if photobucket decides to work, you can put thumbnail prints on and when you click on the thumbnail, it takes you to the larger photo.

Btw lilydude, the flower in that photo is a beautiful color...What is it??

knotz, it's Codonopsis convulvulaceae, a vine from the Himalayas. I grow them from seed. They form a bulb that gets bigger every year. They're kind of hard to keep alive over winter in this climate, unless you surround the bulb with sand when you plant it. I dig the bulbs up when they go dormant in fall, and store them in dry potting mix over winter at 40 degrees F.

You can get the same color with a lot less effort by planting one of the big bellflowers (Campanula).

OK knotz, I'm crushed by guilt and shame about the oversize photo, so I've just resized it. My ego and self-esteem lie in ashes at my feet.

Ha! I don't know where I got the "TAG" from. You're right lilydude, you need to copy the HTML Code. Sorry for the confusion.
The Himalayan vine is very beautiful. Hope you have it digged out before this cold weather sets in!

I did finally get the hang of it.
